EXECUTIVE EDITOR’S CORNER

By Nancy Currie

Another busy month has passed us by. Here we are almost in the middle of March. Where does the time go? I had great intentions of getting down to the business of writing this month and here I am, sitting at the computer wondering where all the month went.

Anyone else think time is moving faster than it used to?

Until next month...

BEST POEM OF THE MONTH CORNER!

MY BOTTLE OF BLUE

By Sandra Lee Hoynacki

To my daddy this day, I dedicate to you this poem.

I owe you much. I love you most. I dedicate this poem to my daddy who taught me all of the most important things in life. Things that money could never buy. He is one of a kind and can never be replaced. I love him dearly and thank him for being the most wonderful father a girl could have ever asked for. As I write this, some of you know he is very ill and there are many prayers being offered up for him by special fellow poets/poetesses and authors/writers. You know who you are and I give you special thanks…  His Love Shines So Bright; like a Beacon upon a Stormy Night

Today I opened the door as fear coaxed me in

A mantle filled with bottles, sitting end to end.

Crystal clear this pain, a door and hidden key

Unlock the haunting door, blue tears follow me.

I know my heart is buried, to reality must I feel

Or drops to count in bottles my unwritten will

My heart slowly sinking lined in blue, I clutch

A pearl drop in a bottle, my blue tears I touch.

The pain was there to see, clearly etched in place

Tell- tale signs said it all, outlined his weary face

His behavior displayed that which wasn't spoken

Dear Lord I kneel now and staidly give this token.

All my love to you I give, as you're my daddy dear

"Little girl come over here as now you'll need to hear

In this life I've loved and have always been a fighter

But I have a resting place, one that's so much brighter".

Instincts spoke in volumes speaking out to me

I looked ahead and saw him, sail God's awesome sea

Through pearls of blue these tear drops traced

A path that led to this resting place

The silence in the room, with its crystal bottles blue

Where tear drops all gathered to trace my face anew

I'll share a cup of truth, and his wisdom pure as gold

I'll leave my room of teardrops as his hand I take to hold.

Dedicated To: Jesse W. Allen, My Dad; I love you daddy!

“Absolutely the Last Resort” and

“Where Are You?”

Novels by Rose Anna Schoene

“Absolutely the Last Resort” is a book written by Rose Anna Schoene that takes place up in the Catskills, high in the mountains, where the lush green terrain is dotted with family-owned and operated Inns and Resorts. Naively, Gina, a precocious young widow and her, shy by nature but now driven, brother, Johnny, purchase a Resort and become part of this deceivingly peaceful scene…

The author Rose Anna Schoene is a native New Yorker who made her writing debut with Absolutely the Last Resort, a charming and nostalgic family-oriented book, which fictionalizes many of the author’s personal experiences owning a resort in the Catskill Mountains for 30 years. This book reflects just one aspect of the author’s life and creative talents and introduces us to her artistic and comedic nature.

She has a writing style that is both entertaining and uplifting which reflects Rose Anna’s
